THARUN MOORTHY

Tharun Moorthy was born in 1989 June in Anjilikavail (Karithara), Vaikom. His parents are Madhu and Bini; his spouse is Revathi Roy. Their children are Irvan Issai Murthy and Ian Imai Murthy. After graduating from I.H.R.D. Engineering College and completing his postgraduate degree from Takkala Nurul Islam Engineering College, he worked as a teacher at Kidangoor Engineering College for four years. He made his film debut in 2016 with the film Trisiva Perur Kliptham. Has formed an advertising company called Elephant Tales and has produced commercials. He is the scriptwriter and director of the films Operation Jawa and Saudi Vellakka. Saudi Vellakka was screened in Indian Panorama at the 2022 Goa International Film Festival and at the Dhaka Film Festival, Pune Film Festival and Bangalore Film Festival. Selected for the competition ICFT UNESCO Gandhi Medal category. He has won the Best Film award at the New York Indian Film Festival. The film won three awards at the 2022 State Film Awards. His works include Thudarum, Operation Jawa and Saudi Vellakka.

VISHNUPRIYA P.

Vishnupriya P. was born on 24 October 1998 in Ambalathara, Kasaragod district, to V. Balakrishnan and P. Vatsala. After her schooling at Ambalathara Government Higher Secondary School and Balla East. Completed her architecture degree from the Government Engineering College, Thiruvananthapuram, in 2021. Her works include Innakamullavarude Aadi.

She won the Inspire Award from the Central Department of Science and Technology in 2014, the Mathrubhumi Vishupathip Poetry Award in 2021 (when returning), the Madhyamam Yuva Kavita Puraskaram in 2022, the Sanghashabdam Kavitha Puraskaram, and the Anganam Kavitha Sammanam. She has won several prizes at the state level in public speaking and drawing at the Kerala School Kalotsavam. In 2014, the Mazha Sangha Art Exhibition (Lalithakala Academy Art Gallery, Kanhangad) was held, and in 2016, the KFA Art Exhibition was held.

VIVEK CHANDRAN

Vivek Chandran was born in Palakkad. He holds a degree in Electronics and Communication from Thrissur Govt. Engineering College and a post-graduate degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science. After his studies, he worked as a senior engineer at General Motors’ Bangalore Tech Centre for five years. He is currently working as a lecturer at BITS Pilani’s Goa campus. His works include Vanyam.

M. MANJU

M. Manju was born in Alappuzha in 1979. Her parents are V. Soman and T.P. Mahilamani. She is currently working as an Assistant Project Officer (Women Development) in the Local Self-Government Department. She has written the books Lokathinte Santhadikal, Nadikal Manava Samskrithikalude Mahadamanikal, and Shyama Madhava Studies – Ithihasathinte Vipareetha Vayana. Chuvanna Punyalante Visudha Sakshyangal, and Kuthiyedutha Padangal are also authored by her.

UNNI R

Unni R was born in Kudamalur near Kottayam, to N. Parameswaran Nair and K.A. Radhamma. His spouse is Anu Chandran, and his daughter is Saraswathi. He was educated at Kudamalur Govt. L.P. School, CMS. High School, CMS. College and Baselius College. His first collection of stories, Ozhivudivasthe Kali, received the Geethahiranyan Endowment of the Kerala Sahitya Akademi, the Anganam-E.P. Sushama Endowment and the Thomas Mundassery Award. Ozhivudivasthe Kali has been made into a film and has won the 46th Kerala State Film Award for Best Film in 2015. The story Pranilokam received the K.A. Kodungallur Kadha Puraskaram and the T.P. Kishore Smaraka Puraskaram, the story Mudrarakshasam received the V.P. Sivakumar Memorial Award and the S.B.T. Award, Abu Dhabi Shakti Award and the Ayanam-C.V. Sreeraman Kadha Puraskaram. A collection of stories titled Kalinadakam has been published in Tamil. He authored a collection of articles and translations: Pusthakapuzhu. He has written dialogues for the films Big B and Anwar and has written the films Bridge (Kerala Cafe), Kullante Bharya (Anchu Sundarikal), Munnarippu, Charlie and Leela. Munnarippu has won the Ramukariat Award for best screenplay, and Charlie has also won the State Award for best screenplay.

MANIYANPPILLA RAJU

Maniyanpilla Raju was born on April 20, 1955, in Thycadu, Thiruvananthapuram. His real name is Sudhir Kumar. His parents are Saraswathiamma and Shekharan Nair. Indira is his spouse. Sachin and Niranj are his children. He lives in Kavadiyar, Thiruvananthapuram. He studied at Model High School, Thiruvananthapuram and Victory Tutorial. He completed his diploma in film acting from Adyar Film Institute in 1975. His first film was Sreekumaran Thampi’s “Mohiniyattam”. He became the hero through Balachandra Menon’s film “Maniyanpilla or Maniyanpilla”. His works include Chirichum Chiripichum. He acted in over four hundred films and produced ten films. He won the Adoorbhasiratna Award in 2011.

MADHAVAN PURACHERRY

Madhavan Puracherry was born in Purachery, Kannur district, to V.E. Govindan Namboothiri and Ganga Antharjanam. Poetry collections: Pravasiyute Mozhigal (1993), Pain Killer (2006), Cycle Yatrayil Naam (2009), Ponne… Ponne… (2013), Ee Nyaarazhchakaale Nokku (2015), Varkeyude Velipaddu Pusthakam (2015), Patakakalkidayil (2019), Mobileil Oru Yakshan (2019), Kuchelasatgatiyayum Karl Marxum (collection of articles), Meenootty’s Online Sancharam (children’s novel). He also authored Uchira.

He is a recipient of the Prof. Joseph Mundassery Award, Vidyavachaspati K.V. Kunhiraman Master Award, Korat Lakshmikuttyamma Award, B.C.V. Trust Poetry Award, P.T. Thankappan Master Literary Award, M.M. Sethumadhavan Memorial Tip Poetry Award, and Mahakavi Kuttamath Award. His work Uchira, an anthology of poems by Madhavan Puracheri, has been selected for the N.V. Krishna Warrier Memorial Poetry Award instituted by the Kerala Sahitya Samithi. He was a teacher at Moothedath Higher Secondary School. He retired in March 2021.

M NANDAKUMAR

M. Nandakumar was born in Sreekrishnapuram in Palakkad district. He completed his B.Tech. degree from Palakkad NSS Engineering College. He worked in IT companies like WiproNet Technologies, Cats Net ISP (Tanzania), and Cybage. He is currently working in the field of Technical Documentation. He has published short story collections Vayillakunnilappan, Kathakal, and Nashtakannakkukarku Oru Jeevatsahayi, novels Nilavilikunnilekulla Kayattam, Pranayam: 1024 Kurukku Vazhigal (with G.S. Shubha), Kalidasanten Maranam, Neerenkal Cheppedukal, and a poetry collection Chennai: Vazhithettiyavarude Yatra Vivaranam. The film ‘Chitrasutra’ directed by Vipin Vijay is based on M. Nandakumar’s long story ‘Varthali – A Love Story in Cyber Space‘. He also authored the work Poochakalude Theevandi.

LAKSHMIDEVI

Lakshmidevi is the daughter of the late Dr K. Velayudhan Nair and poet Sugatha Kumari. She completed her postgraduate degree and M.Phil in Psychology from the University of Kerala. She has published poetry collections, including Irulchinthukal, Meghajwala, and Uppupavakal. She has received the Kunchu Pillai Award (1995), the Lalithambika Antharjanam Memorial Award for Young Writers (1998) and the Venmani Memorial Award (2011). He also authored Kolusaniyatta Mazha

KRIPA AMBADY

Kripa Ambady was born in Naduvattom, near Pattambi, Palakkad district, to Ambadi Radhakrishnan Nair and Padmini Chakkoothu. M.A., B.Ed. in Economics. Kripa Ambadi is a writer and educator who has served as a teacher for ten years. Working in areas like cinema, telefilms, and advertising, she writes screenplays and advertising scripts. Her poems and stories have been published in several print and online periodicals. Her first poetry collection, Penguppayam, was published by DC Books and her #Manpava @Ciniphiles was included in the shortlist of the DC Balasahitya Novel Competition and will be published by DC Books in 2024. She is currently working on the editing of her first short story collection.
