TISSY MARIYAM THOMAS

Dr Tissy Mariam Thomas was born in Valakam near Kottarakkara in Kollam district. She did her graduation in psychology from Aluva Union Christian College and her post-graduation from Calicut University. She did her PhD on the subject of “Psychological Concepts in Medical Sciences”. She researched the social life and gender status of the Hijras in the Karnataka Gharanas. She was a lecturer in the Department of Psychology at Bangalore Christ University. She writes articles on social psychology in periodicals. She is currently an Asst. Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Kerala. Her works include Penvazhi, Malayalikalude Manolokam, Lingapadavi, Pennira, Iranginadappu, Penvazhi.
