UNNI R
Unni R was born in Kudamalur near Kottayam, to N. Parameswaran Nair and K.A. Radhamma. His spouse is Anu Chandran, and his daughter is Saraswathi. He was educated at Kudamalur Govt. L.P. School, CMS. High School, CMS. College and Baselius College. His first collection of stories, Ozhivudivasthe Kali, received the Geethahiranyan Endowment of the Kerala Sahitya Akademi, the Anganam-E.P. Sushama Endowment and the Thomas Mundassery Award. Ozhivudivasthe Kali has been made into a film and has won the 46th Kerala State Film Award for Best Film in 2015. The story Pranilokam received the K.A. Kodungallur Kadha Puraskaram and the T.P. Kishore Smaraka Puraskaram, the story Mudrarakshasam received the V.P. Sivakumar Memorial Award and the S.B.T. Award, Abu Dhabi Shakti Award and the Ayanam-C.V. Sreeraman Kadha Puraskaram. A collection of stories titled Kalinadakam has been published in Tamil. He authored a collection of articles and translations: Pusthakapuzhu. He has written dialogues for the films Big B and Anwar and has written the films Bridge (Kerala Cafe), Kullante Bharya (Anchu Sundarikal), Munnarippu, Charlie and Leela. Munnarippu has won the Ramukariat Award for best screenplay, and Charlie has also won the State Award for best screenplay.
PK BHAGYALAKSHMI
P.K. Bhagyalakshmi was born in Eripuram near Pazhayaangadi in Kannur district. She is acclaimed as a teacher, writer and painter. She retired as a UP school teacher in 2017 and has created a world of creativity around herself by writing several books, painting hundreds of paintings, and travelling. In addition, she has built her own ‘art gallery’ next to her home in Eripuram, ‘Karthika’. Also, obtained a postgraduate degree in Malayalam and Gandhian studies and a doctorate from Kannur University. She has written about 20 books, including novels, stories, studies, poetry, children’s literature, and biographies. Some of her works are Neeralichoonda, Carpets of Cold, Yogi Community in North Malabar, and Gabriel Garcia Marquez. She has received many awards, including the Prof. Joseph Mundassery Award, Bheema Bala Sahitya Award, S.B.T. Award, and Pala K.M. Mathew Award.
VEERANKUTTY
Veerankutty was born in Narayankulam, Kozhikode district, to Kunjabdulla and Ayisha. He was the head of the Malayalam department at Madappally Govt. College. His works include Undanum Noolanum, Veerankuttyude Kavithakal, Mindaprani, Kunjan Puli Kunjan Muyalaya Katha, A Stroll Grazing Each Other (Ullas R Koya) ect. His work Mindaprani won the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award for Poetry in 2017. He has won the Cherusseri Award, P. Kunjiraman Nair Award, V.T. Kumaran Poetry Award, K.S.K. Thalikkulam Award, Tamil Nadu CTMA Literary Award, Abu Dhabi Harithakshara Award for poetry and the SBT Award for children’s literature. His poetry has been published in Poetry International Magazine. It has been translated into languages such as English, German, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, and Hindi.
AMBIKASUTHAN MANGAD
Ambikasuthan Mangad was born in Bara village of Kasaragod district. He earned his M.A. and M.Phil. degrees with top ranks and obtained a Ph.D. in the field of “Concept of Time in Short Stories.” In 2002, he was awarded the Kerala State Television Award for Best Short Story for Commercial Break. He served as the editor of Jeevithathinte Upamayum (the first campus novel anthology) and Ponjari (the first regional language dictionary). He has published four books of literary criticism. His first novel was Marakkappile Theyyangal, and Enmakaje has been translated into Kannada, Tamil, and English. Many of his short stories have been translated into various Indian languages and English. Ambikasuthan Mangad retired as the Head of the Malayalam Department from Nehru College, Kanhangad. He has received 27 prestigious awards, including the Karoor, Edasseri, Anganam, Cherukad, Abu Dhabi Shakthi, Malayattoor Prize, V.T. Bhattathiripad, SBT, Kovilan, and V.P. Sivakumar Keli Awards
P K PARAKKADAVU
P K Parakkadavu is a renowned Malayalam author who has published around forty-six works. His works have also been translated into several languages like English, Arabic and various Indian languages. He is the recipient of several noted accolades such as the CV Sriraman Award, the Sahitya Academy Award for Overall Contributions, the Kerala Basha Institute’s Basheer Memorial Award, the S.B.T Award among others..He has served as an executive committee member of the Kerala Sahitya Academy, Samastha Kerala Sahitya Parishath, a member of the Kendra Sahitya Academy, as well as an editor and editorial relations director at Madhyamam Periodicals. Idiminnalukalude Pranayam, Meesan Kallukalude Kaval, Kadalinte Daham and Ambalam Palli Sthree are a few of his other renowned publications.
M R RENUKUMAR
M.R. Renukumar is an acclaimed poet, painter and translator. His oeuvre spans across different genres like poetry, children’s literature, studies and translations. His poetry collections Veshakkaya and Kothiyan won the 2008 SBT Award and the 2019 Kerala Sahitya Academy Poetry Award, respectively. His work Aracycle won the FOKANA Award and his work Nalam Classile Varal won the Best Children’s Literature Award instituted by the Children’s Literature Institute. M R Renukumarinte Kavithakal is his most recent collection of poetry.
