Sajin P J
Dr. Sajin P. J. is a renowned author, academic and creative thinker. An accomplished writer, Dr. Sajin contributes extensively to academic and non-academic publications, with poems and articles regularly featured in leading periodicals and research journals. His documentary Narayaniyethedi, an exploration of Narayani, the iconic character from Vaikom Muhammad Basheer’s Mathilukal, earned the prestigious Best Screenplay Award from the Kannur Film Chamber. The documentary was also shortlisted for the Kerala State Film Academy’s International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala and the Federation of Film Societies of India’s Signs Film Festival. In 2024, his debut poetry collection, Mariyamme Ninte Kadhanam, was published by DC Books, adding to his literary contributions. Jhule, chronicling his journeys through India’s border villages, is another book authored by him. Currently, Dr. Sajin serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of English at Al-Ameen College in Aluva. He is also a research guide in diverse areas, including nationalism, travel, literature, cinema, Dalit studies, and feminist writing, alongside coordinating the institution’s Research Promotion Council.
