CHANDRIKA CS

C.S. Chandrika was born in Peringottukkara, Thrissur district, to Sankaran C.M. and Bhargavi V.R. A leading activist of the feminist movement active in Kerala in the nineties, an early organiser of the Malayalam Women’s Theatre, actress, director, story writer, novelist, feminist, researcher, columnist, and activist. She holds a bachelor’s degree in botany, a master’s degree in Malayalam literature and women’s studies, and a doctorate in fine arts from Kozhikode University on the subject of “Gender and Theatre”. She has translated stories into English, Tamil, and Kannada. Her major works include Pira, Kaanthal, Ladies CompartmentKeralathile Sthree Munnettathinte Charithram, and Kleptomania, among others.
