VINU ABRAHAM

Vinu Abraham is a story writer, novelist, and screenwriter. He is a native of Nedungadappally in Pathanamthitta. His spouse is Suja, and his children are Bhuvan and Rain. Worked as the Kerala correspondent of The Week for two decades. He has published twenty-four books, including collections of stories, novels, and collections of essays. Kamal directed the famous celluloid film based on the novel Nashtanayaka. Nashtanayaka has been translated into English. His works include Nashtanayika, Sreenivasan Oru Pusthakam, Koda, Chenkiskhante Kuthirakal, Kaval Malakha and Kochuvakkukalude Sabdatharavali

He has won the K.A. Kodungallur Award, the Premji Award, and the S.B.T. Katha Puraskar for his story. He won the Best Screenplay Award at the Mexico International Film Festival for the film Paradeesa and the National Film Award as the producer of the docu-fiction film An Encounter with a Life Living. Member of the General Council of the Kerala Sahitya Akademi and member of the Journalism Board of Studies of the University of Kerala. He has worked as a member of the State Television Awards Committee.
