ANITHA THAMPI

Anitha Thampi is a Malayalam poet, translator, and essayist. Critically acclaimed within and outside India. Her works are widely translated into several languages and are published in various journals and anthologies worldwide. She has published five collections of poetry, including Muttamatikkumpol (While Sweeping the Front Yard, 2004), Azhakillaathavayellam (All That Are Bereft of Beauty, 2010), and Alappuzha Vellam (Alappuzha Water, 2016), among others. Her new collection of travel writing is titled Ethal (2025). Her translations into Malayalam include the writings of Juan Ramón Jiménez, Carlo Collodi, Les Murray, and Mourid Barghouti.
