August 17, A Representation of Travancore

On the second day of Asia’s second-largest literary festival, a brief session on August 17, S. Hareesh’s latest novel, was held with Lijeesh Kumar. Hareesh, an acclaimed author, delivered the foreword on `August 17` and then Lijeesh talked about how history can influence the present generation and why history naturally occurs in Malayalam writings. His book “August 17” is all about the history of Travancore (Thiruvithamkoor). While talking, Hareesh said, “Caste is something that makes a man do things.”
