Nobel Laureate Malala Yousafzai makes it to the Vogue Cover

Vogue has featured Pakistani activist for female education, Malala Yousafzai on the cover of the June issue of its British edition. Styled by Kate Phelan, Malala looks graceful as ever in a bright red “a forest-friendly” viscose and lace shirt and headscarf by British designer Stella McCartney. The activist accessorised her look with a subtle ring by Alice Cicolini and bold red lips.

Activist for female education and the youngest Nobel Prize laureate. Malala is known for human rights advocacy, especially the education of women and children in her native Swat Valley in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northwest Pakistan, where the local Pakistani Taliban had at times banned girls from attending school. Her advocacy has grown into an international movement, and according to former Pakistani Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, she has become “the most prominent citizen” of the country.

Poet Amanda Gorman featured on the cover of Vogue in its April edition. It’s the coming of age of the fashion magazine that is trying to showcase the extraordinary lives outside the glamour industry.

“Thrilled and humbled to be on the cover of @britishvogue! I know the power that a young girl carries in her heart when she has a vision and a mission – and I hope that every girl who sees this cover will know that she can change the world,” wrote the activist on Instagram.
